JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) is preparing State Civil Service (ASN) housing in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh Province, as a supporting facility to accelerate the rehabilitation and reconstruction of post-disaster infrastructure in Sumatra.

Minister PU Dody Hanggodo said the residence was prepared to support the ranks of the PU Ministry who were tasked with handling disasters and accelerating infrastructure development.

The construction of the residence was carried out through the Aceh Strategic Infrastructure Implementation Unit under the Strategic Infrastructure Directorate General of the Ministry of PU.

During the review, Dody was accompanied by the Head of the Emergency Handling, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of Post-disaster Sumatra, Arie Setiadi Moerwanto, and the Secretary of the Strategic Infrastructure Directorate General, Essy Asiah.

The ASN residence in Aceh Tamiang has a capacity of 84 people, while the residence in Langsa City accommodates 36 people.

Facilities available include dormitory and office buildings equipped with sleeping rooms, work rooms, meeting rooms, pantries, sanitation, prayer rooms, and other supporting facilities.

Dody assessed that the provision of housing was part of strengthening logistical support so that personnel on duty could work optimally.

"We want to ensure that all ranks are on duty, especially in the field of disaster management, can work optimally. Support for these facilities is important so that coordination and response in the field will be more effective," he explained.

According to Dody, the residence was built in a strategic location to support the mobility of personnel in carrying out supervision and accelerating the development of infrastructure, especially in the Aceh region and its surroundings.

"Through the provision of operational support, we ensure that the efforts to accelerate development and post-disaster handling can run more effectively, coordinated and sustainable," he added.
