Sengkarut Pesangon, LPS Urges Parkerin Workers to Follow Prima Master Bank Liquidation Process

JAKARTA - The Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) has spoken out regarding the actions of workers and employees of PT Pabrik Kertas Indonesia (Parkerin) who demonstrated at the LPS Surabaya office.

Secretary of the LPS Agency, Jimmy Ardianto, through his statement conveyed concern and empathy for the problems experienced by PT Pakerin workers.

According to him, the problem of wages, severance pay and holiday allowances for PT Pakerin workers is not the authority of the LPS, but Parkerin.

"LPS hopes that this internal problem can be resolved properly by the management, shareholders and workers of PT Pakerin," said Jimmy in a statement to the media, quoted Wednesday, February 25.

He also asked workers who were demonstrating to stop their actions because LPS needed a conducive situation for the liquidation process and payment of deposit claims to run smoothly.

"LPS asks PT Pakerin workers to stop their actions at the LPS office and is expected to follow the bank's handling process in accordance with regulations and laws," urged Jimmy.

Jimmy said that currently BPR Prima Master Bank is no longer operating since its business license was revoked by the OJK on January 27, 2026 after a period of time the rectification and rescue actions were attempted by the authorities.

However, he ensured that LPS would still fulfill its obligation to pay claims for the guarantee of customer deposits using LPS funds in accordance with legal provisions, not from the savings of BPR Prima Master Bank customers.

Currently, he continued, LPS is focusing on the process of paying claims for deposit guarantees in accordance with the provisions with a guarantee limit of IDR 2 billion per customer per bank. The first phase of payment has been announced and currently LPS is focusing on working to verify the payment of the next phase of guarantee claims.

"LPS is also focusing on carrying out the liquidation process of banks to provide the best results and be used for the payment of obligations that have been regulated in the LPS Law," he added.

Jimmy also emphasized that LPS's work in handling this bank was carried out in accordance with and protected by current laws and regulations so that LPS hopes that no party will take any action to interfere or obstruct the work of LPS.
