JAKARTA - The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) will adjust the allowance for participants in the National Internship Program (Maganghub) with the increase in the Minimum Wage (UM) in 2026.
Minister of Manpower Yassierli said that this adjustment was carried out as a form of the government's commitment to supporting the sustainability of the internship program while improving the welfare of participants.
"Alhamdulillah, because UM 2026 has increased, the allowance for internship participants has also increased," he said, Friday, February 13.
He explained that the allowance in the National Apprenticeship Program serves as a living allowance during participants' training and work practice in companies or institutions/institutions. With the increase in UM 2026, the amount of the participants' allowance also increased in accordance with the applicable provisions in their respective regions.
Yassierli gave an example in West Sumatra Province. In 2025, the Minimum Wage of West Sumatra Province was IDR 2,994,193 and in 2026 it increased to IDR 3,182,955. Therefore, the adjustment has a direct impact on the increase in the allowance of participants in the internship in the region.
To the internship participants, the Minister of Home Affairs reminded them to use the allowance they received wisely and productively.
"Make the best use of it, yes. Saving, giving to parents, or other useful things," he said to the participants.
In the future, he continued, the Ministry of Manpower hopes that the National Internship Program will be more qualified, adaptive to industry needs, and able to become an effective bridge between the world of education and the world of work.
The government will also continue to evaluate and improve so that the benefits of the program can be felt more widely by the younger generation of Indonesia.
"The National Internship Program is expected to be more adaptive, quality, and a strong bridge to the world of work. With the right support, the younger generation of Indonesia is ready to compete and contribute to the nation," he concluded.
