JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) together with its subsidiary PT Pertagas Niaga (PTGN) distributes clean energy in the national industrial area through the flow of natural gas in the Special Economic Zone (KEK) Sei Mangkei, North Sumatra.
President Director of PTGN, Toto Yulianto explained, Pertagas plays a role as the one who builds the facilities and infrastructure of the KEK Sei Mangkei extension pipe, then PTGN carries out the sale of natural gas to industrial customers.
"PTGN distributes natural gas to PT Evyap Sabun Indonesia (ESI) since January 2026 with a gradual increase in volume to reach 3,800 MMBTUD," he said, Monday, February 9.
This customer is one of the companies in Indonesia that operates in the oleochemical industry sector.
He said that the distribution of natural gas to the Sei Mangkei Industrial Estate was a manifestation of the company's commitment to expanding the use of natural gas in the national industrial sector.
He hopes that the distribution of natural gas at the Sei Mangkei Industrial Estate can increase the reliability of energy supply in strategic national industrial areas while strengthening the competitiveness of downstream chemical and oleochemical industries in Indonesia.
"The success of this flow is a manifestation of PTGN's commitment to supporting the Government to provide reliable, safe, and sustainable natural gas energy for industrial actors. We believe that the use of natural gas will help the oleochemical industry sector grow and gain operational efficiency and at the same time support the national industry's decarbonization target," said Toto.
