JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP), a national construction and investment company under the auspices of Danantara Indonesia, emphasized its strategic role in supporting the strengthening of national higher education infrastructure through the construction of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Building of the National Development University (UPN) "Veteran" East Java.
This project worth around IDR 219 billion features an innovative construction in the form of an iconic skybridge measuring 22 meters connecting the Wimaya II Tower (Tower B) with the Wimaya I Tower, as part of the integrated twin tower concept.
The building, also known as the Wimaya II Tower, was inaugurated as a Joint Lecture Building which supports the academic activities of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) and the Faculty of Computer Science (FIK). The inauguration was attended by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Brian Yuliarto, Rector of UPN Veteran East Java Prof. Akhmad Fauzi, university leadership, academicians, and related stakeholders.
The construction of the Wimaya II Tower has started since March 29, 2023. This building is designed to support learning activities, collaboration, and academic development in the campus environment. As the implementing contractor, PTPP built the skybridge at a height of 48 meters with the PD8 shoring method which is considered safer, more precise, and efficient in terms of time and cost.
PT PP (Persero) Tbk Corporate Secretary Joko Raharjo said that this project reflects PTPP's commitment to supporting the improvement of the quality of Indonesian human resources.
"PTPP is proud to be able to contribute to the provision of modern campus facilities that support the learning process, collaboration, and development of national higher education," he said in a written statement, Friday, February 6.
