JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) recorded oil and gas production of 1.03 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (MMBOEPD). The production consists of oil of 557,000 barrels per day (MBOPD) and natural gas of 2.76 billion standard cubic feet per day (BSCFD).
Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Upstream Subholding Hermansyah Y Nasroen said this achievement confirms PHE's strategic role in maintaining national energy supply in the midst of increasing global energy sector needs and challenges.
"In addition to production performance, PHE's operating activities throughout 2025 also show solid achievements," he said, Monday, February 2.
He added that PHE realized the drilling of 886 wells, workover 1,288 wells, and well service activities of 37,259 jobs.
On the exploration side, a 2D seismic survey was also carried out along 2,931 kilometers and a 3D seismic survey covering 855 square kilometers, as well as 20 exploration wells to support the sustainability of oil and gas reserves.
PHE also recorded significant performance in strengthening oil and gas resources and reserves. The discovery of 2C category oil and gas resources reached 1,097 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMBOE), with the largest contribution from the Non-Conventional Oil (MNK) well in the Aman Trough area in the Rokan Working Area (WK). Meanwhile, the addition of proven reserves (P1) was recorded at 313.7 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMBOE).
"The achievement of production and the addition of reserves reflects our commitment to continue to maintain national energy sustainability. In the midst of industry challenges, we remain focused on field optimization, acceleration of strategic projects, and improvement of exploration performance," continued Hermansyah.
According to him, PHE is also continuing to explore the potential of various aspects to achieve the target in 2025, including through the Put on Production and Exploration (POPE) of the Astrea, Pinang East and Akasia Prima wells. In addition, the success of drilling in several strategic structures, including Lembak - Kemang - Tapus, Benuang, Gunung Kemala, Karangan - Tanjung Miring Barat, made Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) Zona 4 Regional Sumatra Subholding Upstream Pertamina managed to record the highest oil production record up to 30,000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD).
To support national energy resilience and at the same time reduce the rate of production decline in old fields, Pertamina's Upstream Subholding has applied Multistage Fracturing (MSF) technology to KB525 and KB570 wells in WK Rokan. This breakthrough makes Pertamina a pioneer in the application of MSF technology in Indonesia.
The success of this performance was also supported by a number of strategic projects that have been onstream in 2025, including the Sisi Nubi Area of Interest 1-3-5 Project managed by Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), the CEOR Project of Minas Field Area A Stage-1 by Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR), and the Senoro South Gas Field project managed by PHE Tomori Zone 13 Regional 4.
According to Hermansyah, the completion of these projects is an important milestone in strengthening national oil and gas production and reserves.
"These projects not only increase production capacity, but also prove that the technology and innovation of officers of the Upstream Subholding, working partners, and collaboration with stakeholders are key in optimizing Indonesia's oil and gas potential," he said.
Closing 2025, the PPC-01 exploration well in the Padang Pancuran Structure operated by PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Jambi Merang, was successfully on stream with production exceeding the target. As of December 26, 2025, the realization of PPC-01 well production was recorded at 451.42 BOPD, or exceeded the initial target of 400 BOPD.
