JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) or HK is trying to accelerate the completion of the Betung-Tempino-Jambi Toll Road project along 170.70 kilometers (km).
The project is targeted to be completed by the end of 2027 and will soon be connected to the construction of the Jambi-Rengat Toll Road.
Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary of Hutama Karya Mardiansyah said that the construction of the toll road is aimed at strengthening inter-provincial connectivity in South Sumatra, Jambi to Riau, for logistics flow efficiency.
"We encourage the construction of this corridor so that inter-regional connectivity is stronger, logistics flows are more efficient, and the benefits can be felt faster by the public and business actors," said Mardiansyah as quoted from an official statement, Friday, January 30.
He explained that currently, several segments such as Bayung Lencir-Tempino (34.10 km) and Tempino-Ness (18.49 km) have been operating without tariffs.
Meanwhile, the work focuses on Section 1 and Section 2 with the following progress details.
Section 1 (Betung-Tungkal Jaya), the construction progress reached 57.64 percent (Section 1A) and 13.39 percent (Section IB). It is targeted to be completed in the first quarter of 2027.
Section 2 (Tungkal Jaya-Bayung Lencir), the construction progress is at 22.03 percent (Section 2A) and 22.37 percent (Section 2B), targeted to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2027.
"As a continuation of this corridor, we are also preparing a plan to build the Jambi-Rengat Toll Road along 198.13 km. This road is projected to be a vital route for access to the palm oil industrial area, fisheries in the Enok River to historical tourist destinations such as the Muaro Jambi Temple and Kerinci Seblat National Park," he explained.
In addition to road infrastructure, Hutama Karya is also committed to building social support facilities such as the development of MSMEs in rest areas as well as the provision of overpasses and underpasses for the mobility of local residents.
