JAKARTA - PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) recorded solid growth in financing for MSMEs reaching IDR 51.78 trillion as of November 2025, with a macroprudential inclusive financing ratio (RPIM) of 33.91 percent or above the provisions set by regulators.

During this period, the number of BSI MSMEs reached more than 349,710 people. This, the company noted, proves that financing for MSMEs is growing positively and solidly, especially in the large and retail trade sector, agriculture and forestry, health services, halal food and beverages and halal value chain management.

"This achievement is certainly also driven by various economic stimuli and pro-people government policies that also provide a fresh wind for the UMKM business," said BSI Retail Banking Director Kemas Erwan Husainy, quoted by Antara.

Some of these government policies include the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program, subsidized financing for MSMEs through the Sharia KUR program, capacity building for MSMEs through training, to halal certification and others.

Meanwhile, the performance of financing MSMEs in 2025 which grew on an annual basis (yoy) still prioritizes the principle of prudence, strengthening business processes, and focusing on the halal ecosystem.

Despite facing global macroeconomic challenges and adjustments in people's purchasing power which led to a slowdown in some sub-sectors, the company noted that the performance of the SME segment still showed good resilience and maintained financing quality.

Erwan added that MSMEs are one of the initial gates (gates) of potential retail financing if customers are properly trained and accompanied.

This ranges from access to financing, ongoing assistance and halal certification programs and market access for MSMEs, as well as the implementation of various literacy and inclusion that are massive and equitable.

Erwan said that the synergy between banks, the government, and off-takers (purchase guarantors) is the key to upgrading MSMEs.

BSI itself also has an UMKM Center in various cities in Indonesia as a tangible form of assistance from upstream to downstream.

"We are optimistic that with the right strategy and strong regulatory support, the MSME segment will become the backbone of national sharia economic growth by 2026," concluded Erwan.
