JAKARTA - The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) is predicted to consolidate in this week's trading. Phintraco Sekuritas in its research predicts that the index will move in the range of resistance 9,000, pivot 8,900, and support 8,800.

Phintraco Sekuritas explained that the Wall Street stock indices closed up on Friday's trading last week, thus pushing the index to close up during the past week. The three major indices reached new all-time highs (ATH).

According to Phintraco Securities, the index strengthening was triggered by lower labor data than estimates that added expectations for a Fed rate cut this year. Nonfarm payrolls data of 50 thousand in December 2025, lower than the estimated 73 thousand. However, the unemployment rate fell to 4.4 percent from 4.5 percent.

Although US labor data slowed, Phintraco Securities said, there were indications that the US economy was still quite strong and had the potential to improve soon.

"This week, investors will pay attention to US economic indicator data, such as inflation," wrote Phintraco Sekuritas.

Phintraco Sekuritas added that several major banks in the US are scheduled to release their fourth-quarter 2025 financial reports this week, which marks the start of the fourth-quarter earnings season on Wall Street.

Meanwhile, the sentiment from domestic, Phintraco Sekuritas said, in addition to observing geopolitical developments and corporate actions of issuers, investors will also study domestic economic data, such as retail sales data which will be released today.

Technically, continued Phintraco Sekuritas, the Stochastic RSI indicator of the JCI formed a Death Cross in the overbought area. The MACD histogram is still in the positive area, but the momentum is starting to weaken. So it is estimated that the JCI will tend to consolidate in the range of 8,860-9,000 this week.

"This range will occur as long as it is not closed above the level of 9,000," added Phintraco Sekuritas.

Phintraco Sekuritas recommends six stocks this week, namely CENT, AGII, GJTL, ASRI, MEDC and SMBR.
