JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) or HK together with PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk. (WIKA) through the Operation Cooperation (KSO) scheme started the construction of the Central Medical Unit (CMU) of the Central General Hospital (RSUP) Dr. Sardjito, Yogyakarta.

Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the construction of the Central Medical Unit building at RSUP Dr. Sardjito was part of the agenda for transforming the national health system. The aim is to ensure that health services are increasingly accessible, quality and affordable for the public.

The construction of the CMU Building is carried out in the area of RSUP Dr. Sardjito with a planned building consisting of two basement floors and 13 main floors and a target completion at the end of 2027.

The building has a total area of 55,574 square meters and is arranged through a 14-story vertical stacking design to ensure connectivity between spaces, accelerate the patient service flow and support the improvement of the quality of national referral health services at Dr. Sardjito Hospital.

The Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X said that the construction of the CMU Building at Dr. Sardjito Hospital was a strategic step to provide superior, fair and human-oriented future health services.

"This building is expected to become a health service center for Yogyakarta, the southern region of Java to the national level, and provide sustainable benefits for improving the quality of life of the community," he said.

The CMU building will strengthen critical care services through ICU, HCU, observation room facilities to the resuscitation unit.

Surgical service facilities are strengthened through 21 major operating rooms and six minor operating rooms integrated with pre-operative and post-operative areas.

On the diagnostic side, the building is equipped with various radiology services, such as CT-Scan, MRI 3 Tesla, X-Ray, CT Spectral photon-counting and fluoroscopy, as well as supported by an integrated laboratory including the UPTD Lab, Integrated Lab, BGSi Lab and anatomical and molecular pathology facilities.

In its implementation, Hutama-Wika KSO applies ISO 19650-based Building Information Modeling (BIM). Including the lean construction principle to increase efficiency and accuracy in every stage of work.
