KAI Daop 8 noted that the peak arrival of passengers at Malang Station occurred on Sunday (28/12) with a total of 4,414 passengers. Meanwhile, the peak departure was recorded on Wednesday (24/12) with 5,205 passengers.

The number of passengers during the 2025/2026 Nataru Transportation, which reached 146,020 people, increased by around 7.8 percent compared to the same period last year, which was 135,452 passengers.

Mahendro said there were four favorite destinations for passengers departing from Malang Station, namely Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, and Blitar.

"The total number of Malang Station is 13 trains and includes an addition, namely Gajayana," he said.

In addition, on the last day of the implementation of the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year Transportation, the total number of departures and arrivals of passengers at the Malang Station was recorded at 7,034 people.

Mahendro said that the arrival figure reached 3,706 passengers, 378 more than the number of departures which reached 3,328 passengers.
