JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) together with PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI) implement the integration of the Integrated Licensing and Registration System (SPRINT) or e-Registration from OJK with the Electronic Securities Registration System (SPEK) and the Integrated Investment Management System (S-INVEST) owned by KSEI for the efficiency of the administration of mutual fund products which include the registration, change, and cancellation of registration of investment products.
The integration of the OJK and KSEI systems was inaugurated on Monday, December 22, by the Head of the Capital Market, Derivatives Finance, and Carbon Exchange Supervisory Executive of the OJK RI and KSEI President Director Samsul Hidayat, accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner for Issuer Supervision, Securities Transactions, and Special Examination of the OJK I. B. Aditya Jayaantara, Deputy Commissioner for Capital Market Investment Management and Securities Institutions of the OJK RI Eddy Manindo Harahap, and Head of Department in the OJK RI environment. The launch ceremony was also attended by the Board of Commissioners and Directors of the Self-Regulatory Organization, as well as other invited guests.
Previously, since 2015, the submission of supporting documents for the mutual fund registration process was carried out by custodian banks and investment managers through several systems, namely SPRINT and S-INVEST. This condition is considered less efficient because the same registration documents are submitted through two separate platforms to two different parties, namely OJK and KSEI.
KSEI President Director Samsul Hidayat said that with the integration of SPRINT from OJK as well as SPEK and S-INVEST from KSEI, it is hoped that the processes carried out by investment managers and custodian banks for mutual fund administration purposes will become more efficient.
"As an effort to integrate this process, KSEI has also optimized the SPEK application for the registration of equity securities, debt securities, and investment products," said Samsul in a written statement, Monday, December 29.
Samsul also added that the development of the integration of the three systems is a manifestation of one of the strategic projects included in the OJK roadmap for 2023-2027.
Through the integration of the system, the mutual fund administration process becomes easier and faster, with the following flow changes:
1. Investment managers and custodian banks register, change and cancel the registration of mutual funds in SPRINT. 2. OJK issues a letter of effective registration, change and response to dissolution. The data will be taken by SPEK KSEI, but will not immediately change the data on S-INVEST. 3. Custodian banks need to confirm and complete the required data first at SPEK. For Fund Management Contracts (KPD) and owned portfolios, data input and supporting document upload are done directly through SPEK without having to wait for information flow from SPRINT. 4. KSEI will check the completeness of the documents. If it is appropriate, KSEI will approve the registration, change and cancellation data of investment products. New data will be sent from SPEK to S-INVEST after KSEI gives approval.
In addition to increasing process efficiency, the integration of SPRINT, SPEK, and S-INVEST provides benefits in the form of minimizing duplication of documents submitted to OJK and KSEI, accelerating the registration process for investment products, improving the integrity and consistency of data and documents, and providing integrated facilities for the registration process of mutual funds.
The SPEK or e-securities registration application was launched by KSEI in early 2017 to support KSEI's activities in managing the registration of securities. Through the SPEK application, securities recorded in KSEI's collective custody can be registered electronically, which previously could only be done manually. Securities registered through SPEK can be equity securities, debt securities or mutual funds.
The development of the SPEK application is an anticipation of an increase in the number of securities listed in the KSEI collective custody. As of November 28, 2025, the number of securities listed in KSEI was 3,575 securities, an increase of 9 percent from the previous year of 3,273 securities. As for the number of investment products, 2,317 investment products are listed in KSEI, an increase of 2 percent from the previous year of 2,267.
Meanwhile, S-INVEST is an integrated platform for the investment management industry that has been implemented by KSEI in 2016. The implementation of S-INVEST is a new step for the investment management industry to realize a more efficient and transparent industry. The realization of S-INVEST is a new milestone for the Indonesian capital market because for the first time an integrated investment management system has been implemented.
With the implementation of the integration between the OJK and KSEI systems for the administrative process of investment products into one door, it is expected that there will be a new digital foundation to strengthen the Indonesian capital market industry.
