JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk. (JSMR) reported that the flow of vehicles returning to the Jabotabek area began to show an increase on H+2 Christmas Day 2025.

Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono said the increase occurred in the period from Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 06.00 WIB to Sunday, December 28, 2025 at 06.00 WIB, with a total volume of 168,614 vehicles.

"This figure is the cumulative number of traffic flows (lalin) from four Main Toll Gates (GT), namely the Cikupa GT (from the Merak direction), the Ciawi GT (from the Puncak direction), and the Utama Cikampek GT (from the Trans Java direction) and the Utama Kalihurip GT (from the Bandung direction)," he said in his statement, Sunday, December 28.

Overall, the volume of vehicles returning to Jabotabek increased by 15.66 percent compared to the normal traffic which was recorded as 145,778 vehicles.

Based on the direction of arrival, the majority of vehicles came from the East (Trans Java and Bandung) with a total of 78,835 vehicles or 46.75 percent. Meanwhile, vehicles from the West (Merak) were recorded as many as 45,815 vehicles or 27.17 percent, and from the South (Puncak) as many as 43,964 vehicles or 26.07 percent.

EAST DIRECTION (TRANS JAWA & BANDUNG)

Lalin returned to Jabotabek from Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, with a total of 36,301 vehicles, an increase of 28.70 percent from normal traffic.

Lalin returned to Jabotabek from Bandung via GT Kalihurip Utama Cipularang Toll Road, with a total of 42,534 vehicles, an increase of 32.05 percent from normal traffic.

The total traffic returning to Jabotabek from the Trans Java and Bandung directions through the two GTs was 78,835 vehicles, an increase of 30.49 percent from normal traffic.

WEST DIRECTION (MERAK)

Lalin returning to Jabotabek from Merak direction via GT Cikupa Tangerang-Merak Toll Road is 45,815 vehicles, an increase of 0.77% from normal traffic.

SOUTH DIRECTION (PUNCAK)

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles returning to Jabotabek from Puncak via GT Ciawi Jagorawi Toll Road was 43,964 vehicles, an increase of 10.19 percent from normal traffic.

Rivan explained that the long holiday period at the end of the year consists of two main phases, namely the outgoing and incoming flow during the Christmas Holiday 2025 and the outgoing and incoming flow during the New Year Holiday 2026.

He said that after the spike in outgoing traffic from Jabotabek during Christmas holidays, his party estimated that the return flow to Jabotabek would continue to increase.

"On Christmas Day 2025, the volume of vehicles returning to the Jabotabek area is expected to continue to increase. This figure is predicted to increase in the H+3 Christmas period or Sunday, December 28, 2025 at 06.00 s.d. Monday, December 29, 2025 at 06.00 WIB with a projection of the number of vehicles returning to Jabotabek reaching 191,975 vehicles, an increase of 7.16 percent from normal (179,147 vehicles)," said Rivan.

To anticipate the surge in mobility during the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) 2025/2026 period, Jasa Marga has prepared all operational services optimally.

He said that as the largest toll road operator in Indonesia, Jasa Marga emphasized its commitment to providing safe, comfortable, and safe travel services for all road users.

Cumulatively, Jasa Marga also noted that there was still movement of people leaving the Jabotabek area in the period of H-7 to H+2 Christmas holidays 2025, namely from Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 06.00 WIB to Sunday, December 28, 2025 at 06.00 WIB.

The total volume of vehicles passing through the four main GTs reached 1,731,850 vehicles, an increase of 14.49 percent compared to the normal traffic of 1,512,617 vehicles.

Rivan said Jasa Marga appealed to toll road users to prepare their journeys well during the 2025/2026 Christmas holiday period.
