JAKARTA - Two Pertamina fuel oil (BBM) tanks managed to penetrate the isolated area after the flood and landslide disaster in Takengon, Aceh. The Biosolar type fuel arrived at the Takengon and Bener Meriah SPBU after a 7-hour journey from the Pertamina Lhokseumawe Integrated Terminal.

This distribution is the first delivery of fuel through land routes since access to the area was cut off due to the disaster. Previously, fuel supplies could only be carried out by air with an emergency distribution scheme.

Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional North Sumatra (Sumbagut), Fahrougi Andriani Sumampouw revealed that Pertamina continues to distribute energy to disaster-affected areas.

Furthermore, Fahrougi said that various trial routes were taken to enter the isolated area due to the interruption of road access.

"Previously, efforts to deliver fuel were carried out by air. Now, thank God, Pertamina's fleet has also managed to enter the Takengon area by land. The journey takes about 6 to 7 hours given the limited conditions of the alternative route," said Fahrougi in an official statement, Friday, December 26.

Fahrougi said that fuel was distributed from IT Lhokseumawe to Bener Meriah Regency and Central Aceh by deploying 5-kiloliter and 8-kiloliter capacity tank cars. The supply was distributed to SPBU 13.245.409 in Bener Meriah Regency and SPBU 14.245.499 Takengon which is located in Nunang Antara, Bebesen District.

The distribution of the first distribution through the land route takes an alternative route of Simpang KKA-Bener Meriah-Takengon for 100 km, for a 7-hour journey. The KKA line itself still applies a system of opening and closing. If the access is closed, vehicles must turn around 444 kilometers with a travel time of up to 12 hours.

"The journey of the tanker car is also accompanied by escort from law enforcement officers, to ensure the smooth distribution in the midst of the road conditions that have not recovered, affected by the disaster," he said.

Fahrougi explained that before the land route could be used, Pertamina had supplied fuel to the Bener Meriah and Takengon areas since December 13, 2025 using an Air Tractor aircraft as an emergency measure.

Meanwhile, Vice President of Corporate Communication PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron said his party continued to coordinate with local governments, security forces, and stakeholders to ensure that energy supplies in disaster-affected areas are maintained.

"In the midst of an emergency, Pertamina confirms its commitment to maintaining energy supply resilience and supporting community activities and public services in disaster-affected areas in Aceh," said Baron.

According to Baron, the distribution of fuel oil to these affected areas is also part of the implementation of the Pertamina Christmas and New Year Task Force (Satgas Nataru).

"We are trying to continue to penetrate difficult terrain. This effort is expected to increase the spirit for affected people, especially to spend Christmas and New Year more strongly," he said.

For information, the Pertamina Christmas and New Year Task Force itself has been running since November 13, 2025 to January 11, 2026, with a focus on maintaining the smooth supply of energy in the midst of increased community mobility and emergency conditions in a number of regions.
