JAKARTA - Bank Mandiri continues to emphasize its commitment as a state-owned financial institution that carries out its function as an agent of social value creation. In line with this commitment, Bank Mandiri is not only active in distributing humanitarian assistance and assistance to the community, but also actively collaborating with regulators in providing special credit treatment for debtors affected by disasters.

Bank Mandiri's Risk Management Director Danis Subyantoro said that this special treatment policy is a quick and adaptive response from the company in line with the issuance of the Special Treatment Policy for Credit/Financing for Disaster Victims in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on December 11, 2025. This policy is the basis for banks, including Bank Mandiri, to provide special treatment to affected debtors in accordance with OJK Regulation (POJK) Number 19 of 2022 concerning Special Treatment for Disaster Impact.

"As a manifestation of Bank Mandiri's commitment to supporting the economic recovery of the community, we have conducted data collection from Bank Mandiri's regional offices that are potentially affected by disasters. Based on the data collection, Bank Mandiri estimates the number of debtors affected by disasters in North Sumatra and West Sumatra to be more than 30,000 debtors. From that number, then the debtors are categorized into heavy, medium, and light classifications based on the level of disaster impact and the ability to recover payment obligations," said Danis in an official statement, Wednesday, December 24.

He continued that the data on the affected debtors was temporary and would continue to be adjusted, depending on the results of the continued data collection and field identification process.

As part of this policy, special treatment on credit and financing is provided in full to debtors affected by disasters. This relaxation includes credit quality assessment focused on payment accuracy or one pillar for credit with a ceiling of up to IDR 10 billion and restructuring programs.

This special treatment program will be valid for a period of up to three years from the date set by the Financial Services Authority on December 10, 2025, as an ongoing effort to maintain financial stability while supporting the recovery of the mass market economy.

"In order to implement this, the Bank Mandiri team in the affected areas will actively coordinate with the affected debtors so that special treatment can be given by prioritizing the interests of the debtors' conditions and needs," concluded Danis.
