JAKARTA - InJourney is alerting 37 airports with 24-hour services to face a surge in passengers during the 2025 Christmas and New Year 2026 (Nataru) holidays, where passenger aircraft movements are expected to reach 10.5 million people.

InJourney's President Director Maya Watono said the readiness was part of the airport transformation which was carried out thoroughly to ensure that people's air travel was safe, comfortable, and memorable amid the increasing mobility at the end of the year.

"The end-of-year holiday is an important momentum to show how the transformation of the airport that we have carried out is able to present a more modern, integrated, and globally competitive service standard," said Maya in an official statement, Tuesday, December 23.

Maya said InJourney not only focuses on operational smoothness, but also builds airports as part of a travel and tourism ecosystem that provides added value for the community.

Maya said that the airport's readiness during the Nataru period was also part of InJourney's strategy to strengthen the airport's position as the main gateway for national tourism. All transformation initiatives are designed based on a customer-centric approach to make the passenger experience more optimal.

In the aviation sector, continued Maya, operational readiness is carried out through InJourney's subsidiary, InJourney Airports. During the 2025/2026 Nataru period, all airports are fully alerted to ensure the availability of flight services during long holidays.

"InJourney ensures that all airports are on alert 24 hours a day, to ensure the availability of flight services for the public during the long holiday period," he said.

On the other hand, Maya continued, InJourney also ensures the readiness of the tourism ecosystem during the Nataru holiday. A number of hotels and tourism destinations under the InJourney Group have prepared various programs to welcome an increase in tourist visits.

From the accommodation sector, InJourney projects an increase in hotel occupancy at InJourney Hospitality by 3.3 percent with occupancy rates reaching around 74 percent. The highest occupancy is expected to occur in the Bali and Java clusters.

"InJourney Group will seize opportunities based on the increasing tourism trend. At the same time, we are also making optimal preparations to ensure the best service, so that the travel of tourists through InJourney Group airports and tourism destinations can run smoothly without obstacles," said Maya.

Meanwhile, InJourney Airports President Director Mohammad Rizal Pahlevi said that during the Nataru period, namely December 15, 2025 to January 4, 2026, the number of aircraft passengers through InJourney Airports airports is estimated to increase by 4.1 percent compared to the same period last year to 10.5 million passengers.

"All airports under InJourney Airport have been prepared to anticipate an increase in aircraft passenger movements. We hope to provide comfort and the best service to all users of air transportation modes," said Rizal.

Rizal said all airports under the management of InJourney Airports were on alert for 24 hours to ensure the availability of flight services for the public during the long holiday period. In the midst of the rainy season, his party also took various steps to anticipate mitigating the impact of bad weather.

Furthermore, Rizal emphasized the collaboration between stakeholders as the key to the smooth operation of the airport during the Nataru peak season. This is reflected in the smooth flow of flight traffic, including at the peak of the 20-21 December 2025 flow.

"Flight traffic and service to aircraft passengers at InJourney Airports are running smoothly, including during peak traffic, thanks to the support of all parties. We are grateful for the very close collaboration and coordination," said Rizal.

Based on operational data, on December 20, 2025, 3,738 aircraft movements were recorded with 517,000 passengers. On December 21, 2025, there were 3,695 flights with 512,000 passengers. Meanwhile, on December 22, 2025, the realization of passenger movements reached its peak with 3,819 flights and 543,000 passengers.

In addition to operational strengthening, InJourney Airports also presents focal points, mobile customer service, and various ground activation programs such as cultural art performances, live music, year-end parades, and welcoming the first passengers in 2026.

All these efforts are part of the airport transformation based on the Premises, Process, and People approach to strengthen the airport's position as an efficient, humanistic, and global standard Indonesian tourism gateway.
