PP Terbit, Menaker Ensure No Reduction in UMP

JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, revealed that the Government Regulation (PP) regarding remuneration had been issued. In the policy, it has gone through a series of quite long processes and considers the Adequate Living Needs (KHL) in each region including economic growth in each region.

Yassierli ensured that there was no decrease in the amount of UMP even though there were regions that recorded negative economic growth. The formula for wage increases that was set was Inflation + (Economic Growth x Alfa) with an Alfa range of 0.5-0.9.

"There is no term that the wages will certainly decrease. Because the formula is inflation plus economic growth multiplied by Alfa. So if the economic growth is negative, then the Regional Wage Council will certainly consider an increase based on inflation. But we leave it to the Regional Wage Council," Yassierli told the media, Wednesday, December 17.

Yassierli also ensured that the Regional Wage Board has data related to economic growth in each region, including which sectors are the most dominant in supporting economic growth.

Yassierli said, his party had also carried out socialization to all regional heads facilitated by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

"So we really appreciate the Minister of Home Affairs, Prof. Tito Karnavian who has supported, facilitated us. So this morning a very important forum we socialize to the governors, and then also present the regencies and mayors throughout Indonesia," said Yassierli.
