JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) said that at least 13 bridges were damaged along the central cross-line to Aceh Province as a result of flash floods and landslides at the end of November 2025.

Minister PU Dody Hanggodo said the biggest focus of handling was on the Teupin Mane Bridge which was the entrance to the middle crossing.

"Until Thursday, December 11, 2025, the bailey erection process has been carried out since December 10 and it is targeted that this bridge will be functional on December 15, 2025," Dody said in an official statement, Friday, December 12.

After the Teupin Mane emergency bridge was connected, Dody said, the installation of Bailey on the next broken bridges would be continued gradually until all access to Bener Meriah and Central Aceh was reopened.

The two broken bridges on the Aceh East Cross are being rushed to handle and are targeted to be completed by December 14, 2025.

Not only bridges are damaged, the PU Ministry also reported that a number of national roads in Aceh are still cut off as a result of the disaster.

Several national roads in Aceh are still cut off, namely the Meureudu-Bireuen, Bireuen-Bener Meriah sections to the Gayo Lues-South Aceh corridor.

"However, all affected locations have been handled by deploying heavy equipment, filling the bridge's driveway, cleaning the landslide material, and installing Bailey bridges gradually," he said.

Meanwhile, on the Simpang Uning-Uwaq-Blangkejeren section, two-wheeled vehicles can already pass and the opening of the four-wheeled lane is targeted to be completed by December 15.

A number of sections that were previously cut off have now been able to be passed again, including Banda Aceh-Meureudu, Lhokseumawe-Langsa, Langsa-Kuala Simpang to Kutacane City-North Sumatra border.

Meanwhile, for the western crossing, all lanes are functional and are now entering the phase of cleaning up flood materials and minor repairs.

"We ensure that all the National Road Implementation Agency (BPJN) Aceh teams continue to work with the support of heavy equipment, bailey bridge units and full coordination with the local government and related institutions," added Dody.
