BANDUNG - PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. (BMRI) reports that the number of Livin' Paylater users has exceeded 250,000 customers. This achievement was achieved almost two years after the pay delay feature was officially introduced on December 13, 2023.
Bank Mandiri Vice President of Digital Retail Banking Harry Sofri Putranda revealed that his party is currently evaluating the Livin' Paylater service and this step was taken to ensure that the product can provide optimal performance.
Harry explained that the buy now pay later (BNPL) service has recently become a regulator's concern, especially because of the high ratio of non-performing loans (NPL) in the service.
"Well, in terms of Bank Mandiri, we have to be careful, we are very prudent, especially we are banks that really pay attention to credit risks like that," said Harry in Bank Mandiri Media Gathering, Monday, December 8.
He added that the evaluation results will later become the basis for Bank Mandiri to decide whether the Livin' Paylater will continue or further review is necessary.
For information, Livin' Paylater offers a limit of up to IDR 20 million without monthly administrative fees and provides interest-free installment options.
Previously, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) noted that the total debt of the Indonesian people through the banking Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) service reached IDR 24.86 trillion in September 2025 or grew 25.49 percent year-on-year (yoy).
