Jakarta Customs And Excise Secures Illegal Goods Worth IDR 71.41 Billion Until November 2025

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Customs Regional Office (Kanwil BC) reported the results of monitoring and acceptance performance from January to November 2025.

Head of the Jakarta Customs and Excise Regional Office, Akhmad Rofiq, said that this achievement reflected the strengthening of the supervisory function in all working areas that oversee seven service offices.

According to Rofiq, during this period his party carried out 1,094 prosecutions in the field of excise. From this action, evidence was secured in the form of 41 million illegal cigarettes, 16,323 liters of beverages containing ethyl alcohol (MMEA), 3,556 liters of ethyl alcohol, and 11.25 liters from other tobacco processing (HPTL).

Meanwhile, the total value of goods that were successfully secured reached Rp71.41 billion, with the potential state losses that were successfully prevented amounting to Rp37.65 billion.

As a follow-up to the violation in the field of excise, an investigation process has been carried out by naming 16 suspects and resolving the case also resulted in a fine of up to Rp. 8.04 billion.

"The Ultimum of the 2025 remedium has increased, where in 2024 it will be IDR 5.4 billion in value, this year until November it has reached IDR 8.04 billion," he said at a press conference in Jakarta, Wednesday, December 3.

Rofiq added that through strengthening synergy and law enforcement that was right on target, the Jakarta Customs and Excise Regional Office continued to carry out the Kemayoran Tiger Operation as the main identity in eradicating illegal excisable goods.

He added that this operation is a manifestation of Jakarta Customs and Excise consistency in maintaining compliance levels, providing measurable deterrent effects, and ensuring that the business climate continues to run according to regulations.

In addition to the excise sector, the Jakarta Customs Office also carried out 885 customs actions during January 'November 2025.

The commodities that are dominantly prosecuted include drugs and cosmetics, pornographic goods, food and beverages, electronics, and chemicals. From this action, the potential loss to the state of Rp. 2.62 billion was avoided.

In addition, taking action against illegal excisable goods, Jakarta Customs and Excise also thwarted various narcotics smuggling efforts, namely throughout 2025, there were 78 joint enforcement activities with the National Police, BNN, and BPOM, with a total of 162.6 kilograms of evidence, consisting of 40.5 kg of crystal methamphetamine, 30.7 kg of marijuana, and 43,772 ecstasy pills.

From these results, it is estimated that 284,534 people were saved from potential drug abuse, while reducing the burden of state rehabilitation costs to Rp250.8 billion.
