JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) as Pertamina Gas Subholding has again distributed aid for flood victims in Sumatra. Through the spirit of mutual cooperation with Danantara and Garuda Indonesia, PGN sent three tons of assistance for the second phase aimed at communities affected by floods and landslides in Aceh and a number of other areas in Sumatra.
PGN's Corporate Secretary, Fajriyah Usman, emphasized that mutual cooperation is a value that PGN continues to uphold in every humanitarian action. He said that it was this spirit of togetherness that made the disaster management response run faster and more effectively.
"In an emergency like this, collaboration is the key. We together with Danantara and Garuda Indonesia move quickly so that aid is immediately received by people in need," said Fajriyah, Tuesday, December 2.
The second phase of assistance that was sent on Monday, December 1, includes basic needs such as rice, instant noodles, and mineral water, as well as mother and child equipment in the form of sanitary napkins and baby diapers. In addition, assistance is also equipped with health packages and medicines to support the emergency needs of the affected communities.
"We ensure that assistance answers the most urgent needs in the field, from foodstuffs to medical equipment. The hope is to ease the burden on the community in the midst of difficult conditions," said Fajriyah.
This second phase of assistance is focused on the Aceh region which is currently one of the most significant disaster impact areas. PGN ensures that the distribution process is carried out according to the priority needs in the field and coordinates with related parties. The assistance will later be distributed by the Aceh Coordinating State-Owned Enterprise and the local Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) to reach the affected communities more quickly and accurately.

Fajriyah also hopes that the areas affected by the disaster can recover soon and bounce back. He emphasized that PGN is committed to continuing to assist the community until the situation gradually improves. "Hopefully this joint effort accelerates recovery and gives strength to the affected communities to bounce back," he concluded.
Previously, PGN had moved quickly to distribute the first phase of assistance focused on the North Sumatra region, one of the areas that experienced the big impact of the disaster for the first time. This initial assistance includes basic needs, emergency equipment, and other logistical support that is adjusted to conditions in the field. PGN's quick steps in the first stage became an important foundation in supporting disaster early handling while ensuring that the affected people receive continuous assistance.
