November Inflation Reaches 0.17 Percent, Triggered By An Increase In Gold To Shallots

JAKARTA The Central Statistics Agency alias BPS reported that inflation in November 2025 was recorded at 0.17 percent on a monthly basis (month to month/mtm), lower than October 2025 which reached 0.28 percent.

Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics, BPS Pudji Ismartini, said that in November 2025 there was inflation of 0.17 percent on a monthly basis or an increase in the consumer price index (IHK) from 109.04 in October 2025 to 109.22 in November 2025.

He added that on an annual basis, Indonesia's inflation rate in November 2025 was at 2.72 percent, down from the position in October 2025 which was 2.86 percent (yoy).

"In terms of calendar year or year to date, inflation is 2.27 percent," said Pudji at a press conference, Monday, December 1.

The expenditure group that contributed the largest inflation in November 2025 was a personal care group and other services, with 1.21 percent inflation and 0.09 percent contribution.

The main commodity driving this increase is gold jewelery which contributes 0.08 percent inflation.

In addition, several other commodities also trigger inflation including air transport rates with a share of 0.04 percent, onion 0.03 percent, fresh fish 0.02 percent, and carrots 0.02 percent.

Sementara itu, sejumlah komoditas memberikan andil terhadap deflasi, seperti daging ayam ras 0,03 persen, beras 0,02 persen, cabai merah 0,02 persen, serta telur ayam ras dan kentang yang masing-masing menyumbang deflasi sebesar 0,01 persen.

"Inflasi November 2025 yang sebesar 0,17 persen utamanya didorong oleh inflasi komponen inti. Komponen inti mengalami inflasi 0,17 persen dan komponen ini memberikan andil inflasi terbesar yakni 0,11 persen. Komoditas yang dominan memberikan andil inflasi pada komponen inti adalah emas perhiasan," tuturnya.

Meanwhile, a number of commodities contributed to deflation, such as 0.03 percent of chicken meat, 0.02 percent of rice, 0.02 percent of red chilies, and chicken eggs and potatoes, each of which contributed 0.01 percent of deflation.

"November 2025 inflation of 0.17 percent was mainly driven by core component inflation. The core component experienced inflation of 0.17 percent and this component contributed the largest inflation of 0.11 percent. The dominant commodity to contribute inflation to the core component is gold jewelery," he said.
