The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has dispatched a team to a number of disaster locations in Aceh Province.

The team is tasked with helping evacuate a number of roads across the east, west and middle of Aceh Provinces affected by floods and landslides.

This action was part of President Prabowo Subianto's instruction to prioritize disaster management quickly, precisely and thoroughly.

"We ensure that all technical ranks move since the first report was received. Our priority is to maintain connectivity, secure affected locations and ensure the safety of residents," said PU Minister Dody Hanggodo in a written statement quoted on Friday, November 28.

The Ministry of Public Works through the Aceh National Road Implementation Center (BPJN) team has cleaned up avalanche materials, normalized drainage channels and ensured smooth traffic flow.

Dody explained that most of the landslide locations that have occurred since last week have been successfully handled and traffic is back to normal.

"However, several landslide points that occurred on November 26 had hampered the movement of vehicles and are currently still being handled intensively," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of BPJN Aceh Heri Yugiantoro said that one of the significantly affected infrastructures was the Wehni steel frame bridge on the Bireuen Intersection Uning section which was damaged until it broke.

Therefore, he said, the Aceh BPJN team was conducting technical assessments and emergency handling at the location.

"Emergency handling is carried out quickly so that access roads and affected bridges can recover quickly, especially on the main route that is vital for the mobility of residents and logistics distribution," he said.
