Purbaya Meets Bahlil, The Result Is No Additional LPG Subsidy But Additional Quota

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) of the Republic of Indonesia Purbaya Yudhi Sadive visited the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) to hold a meeting related to the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (elpiji) subsidy budget.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dwi Anggia explained, the meeting had been decided if there was no additional subsidy quota for 3 kg LPG gas in 2025.

"There is an additional quota but there is no additional subsidy," said Anggia to the media crew, Tuesday, November 25.

He explained that this was because the quota for 2025 had been calculated jointly by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Ministry of Finance together with Pertamina as an assignment business entity and it was known that the need for LPG in 2025 was below the realization in 2024.

"The result is that the 3 kg LPG quota in 2025 is 8.17 million metric tons. This is 0.06 percent smaller than the 2024 realization," continued Anggia.

Anggia explained, although the quota set for this year is lower than the realization in 2024, the government has also taken into account the surge in LPG needs to touch 8.5 million metric tons.

Although there is an additional quota, he emphasized that there will be no additional subsidy quota because LPG prices are below the indicators set by the nature of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget.

"There is an additional 0.37 million or around 370,000. But what is certain is that there may not be additional subsidies. Because the price is below the APBN indicator as well," said Anggia.
