Risk On Sentiment Strengthens, Rupiah Has A Green Opportunity

JAKARTA - The rupiah exchange rate in trading Tuesday, November 25, 2025, is estimated to have strengthened against the United States (US) dollar.

Citing Bloomberg data, Monday, November 24, 2025, the rupiah spot exchange rate was closed higher by 0.10 percent to the level of Rp. 16,699 per US dollar.

Meanwhile, the Jakarta Interbank Spot Dollar Rate (Jisdor) exchange rate of Bank Indonesia (BI) closed up 0.06 percent to a price level of Rp. 16,709 per US dollar.

Doo Financial Futures analyst Lukman Leong said that the rupiah exchange rate has the potential to strengthen against the US dollar in line with the increasing risk on sentiment.

He added that this positive sentiment came after Fed official Christopher Waller stated that cutting interest rates in December was appropriate and needed with the current condition of the US economy.

"Rupiah is expected to strengthen against the US dollar amid risk on sentiment by the increasing prospect of cutting interest rates following Fed Waller officials who say that December's rate cuts are after and are needed with the current state of the US economy," he told VOI, Tuesday, November 25.

Selain itu, Lukman menyampaikan suasana risk on turut diperkuat oleh kembali munculnya euforia terhadap perkembangan teknologi AI.

"Sentimen risk on juga didukung oleh kembalinya euphoria AI," ucapnya.

Lukman memproyeksikan pergerakan rupiah pada Selasa, 25 November, bergerak dalam kisaran Rp16.600 per dolar AS hingga Rp16.750 per dolar AS.

In addition, Lukman said that the risk on atmosphere was also strengthened by the re-emergence of euphoria towards the development of AI technology.

"The risk on sentiment is also supported by the return of AI euphoria," he said.

Lukman projects that the movement of the rupiah on Tuesday, November 25, will move in the range of Rp16,600 per US dollar to Rp16,750 per US dollar.
