The Capital Archipelago Authority (OIKN) has held a coordination meeting with South Korea to discuss the plan for a clean water project grant or water purification project and a smart city corporate center from the Government of the Republic of Korea to the Government of Indonesia.

The construction of the clean water supply facility is targeted to start in early 2026.

Head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, appreciated the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Korea in supporting the acceleration of the development of the capital city of the archipelago.

During the meeting, the progress of the Water Purification Project was discussed, which is currently entering the planning stage.

"Thank you for the visit. We are looking forward to this project running soon and providing real benefits for IKN development," said Basuki, quoted from the IKN official website, Monday, November 24.

"Dua minggu lagi tim teknis kami akan segera ke IKN untuk membahas kembali kelanjutannya," kata dia.

Meanwhile, the Government of the Republic of Korea will send a special technical agency to discuss details and align work plans in the field.

Acting Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Indonesia Park Soo-dek emphasized that his party's readiness to follow up on the project.

"In two weeks our technical team will immediately go to IKN to discuss the continuation," he said.
