Government Adds IDR 76 Trillion Fund Placement To Banking

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance has again increased the placement of funds in a number of banks since November 10, 2025, with a total of IDR 76 trillion.

As for the details, Bank Mandiri, BRI, and BNI each received an allocation of IDR 25 trillion, while Bank DKI received an placement of IDR 1 trillion.

With this addition, the total government funds transferred from Bank Indonesia (BI) to banks have now reached Rp276 trillion.

"From September 12 yesterday, we moved the government treasury from Bank Indonesia to banks amounting to Rp200 trillion. Later we will show how much this Rp200 trillion has been used and this creates economic growth which we hope can be quite significant in the short term," said the Director General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy of the Ministry of Finance Febrio Nathan Kacaribu, quoted Tuesday, November 18.

Febrio added that the increase in investment and consumption continues to be encouraged so that real sector activities can move faster.

According to him, with lower-cost placement of funds, lending by the banking sector is expected to be more expansive.

He explained that until October 22, 2025, the realization of the use of Rp200 trillion in funds by Himbara banks had reached Rp167.7 trillion or around 85 percent. Bank Mandiri and BRI are noted to have absorbed all the allocations of funds provided.

Meanwhile, BNI has only utilized IDR 37.4 trillion or 68 percent of the total allotment of IDR 55 trillion. BTN has absorbed IDR 10.3 trillion or 41 percent of its allocation of IDR 25 trillion. Meanwhile, Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) has utilized IDR 9.9 trillion or 99 percent of the portion of IDR 10 trillion.

"This is mainly because what we place there is lower in cost than the cost of funds from the banks we place. We place it according to the interest interest of our placement in Bank Indonesia at 3.8 percent, around 80 percent of the policy interest rate, with the same interest rate we put in the bank, making the cost of funds of banks very much helped and they of course distribute it faster for cheaper cost of funds," he said.
