JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) as Pertamina's Gas Subholding continues to show its commitment in the development of MSMEs by presenting nine fostered business actors at the Surabaya Fashion Parade (SFP) 2025 entitled 'Rebellion', which was held at the Tunjungan Plaza Convention Hall on November 14, 2025. This participation is part of PGN's ongoing efforts to help MSMEs 'upgrade' through capacity building and expanding market access.
PGN's Corporate Secretary, Fajriyah Usman, said that the participation of MSME actors in this event was not only a space to present works, but also strategic momentum to strengthen their competitiveness in the creative industry. According to him, SFP platforms are right for MSMEs to meet directly with buyers, industry players, as well as potential consumers, thus opening up opportunities for collaboration and wider business development.
Through this event, MSME actors can introduce their products to a more diverse audience. We hope this experience provides new insights, wider networks, and commercial opportunities that can encourage their business to move up to the next level," he said, quoted Tuesday, November 18.
As is known, MSMEs have a big role in driving the national economy. In 2024, the contribution of MSMEs to Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will reach around 61%. This figure shows that strengthening the MSME sector is not only important, but also crucial for economic growth and equitable welfare in various regions.
Fajriyah hopes that the presence of MSMEs assisted by PGN in this large-scale fashion event can be an inspiration for other business actors to continue to innovate and believe that they will penetrate a more competitive market.
If MSMEs are able to be competitive, then strengthening the local economy will run faster. Growing MSMEs mean that jobs are increasing, supply chains are moving, and added value for the economy is also increasing," explained Fajriyah.
At the 2025 SFP event, PGN's fostered MSMEs displayed a variety of fashion and craft works that represented Indonesia's cultural wealth. Starting from Garut ikat weaving, Palembang weaving, Solo batik, Badui weaving, North Sumatra signature handicrafts and embroidery, knit bags, silver crafts, to ecoprint batik crafts. All the products on display bring strong identities from their respective regions. The combination between traditional aesthetics and the touch of modern innovation makes each work appear prominent and attract the attention of visitors and fashion industry players.
In addition to appearing at exhibitions and fashion shows at the Opening Ceremony, PGN's fostered MSMEs also present a variety of interactive activities at the PGN booth. Visitors have the opportunity to try directly the process of reversing batik and witness demonstrations of Garut ikat weaving. This activity is one of the main attractions because it not only shows the beauty of the archipelago wastra, but also provides an educational experience regarding the creative process behind every work, thus strengthening public appreciation of Indonesian cultural products.

The founder of Indonesia Fashion Parade, Dian Apriliana Dewi, also expressed his appreciation for the diversity of works displayed by MSME actors.
"With the work showing exploration of forms, textures, and details that are 'champing' but still elegant and modern, we mean a new spirit to be able to work without limits with ideas that have extraordinary results," he said.
In line with that, Fajriyah added that the participation of PGN's fostered MSMEs not only increases the enthusiasm of visitors, but also strengthens education about the cultural values and expertise of local craftsmen. He emphasized the importance of understanding that every product produced by MSME actors has values and stories born from a long process.
"We want to ensure that MSME actors are not only known for their interesting products, but also understand that each work has cultural values, perseverance, and stories that should be appreciated," he concluded.
