Later, the toll road will connect Betung District in Banyuasin Regency to Sungai Lilin District in Musi Banyuasin Regency and will then be connected to Jambi City and integrated with the JTTS route to Bakauheni Port in Lampung Province.

The Betung 'Tempino' Jambi toll road has an overall length of 170.73 km and is divided into three main sections, namely Section 1 Betung'Tung Jaya along 62.38 km, Section 2 Tungkal Jaya 'Bayung Lencir along 54.32 km and Section 3 Bayung Lencir'Sp. Ness along 52.59 km.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Mardiansyah said the three sections are expected to be the best choice for road users, both private vehicles and freight transportation to speed up travel times and increase inter-regional mobility.

In addition to construction progress, it has reached 30.83 percent, land acquisition has also reached 43.35 percent. In Section 1, Betung Interchange (IC) is available and Betung's access hardening work is complete. The section will also be equipped with five ICs, namely IC Betung with a length of 2.2 km; IC Tungkal Jaya 3.31 km; IC Bayung Lencir 2.98 km; IC Tempino 1.87 km; and IC Ness 2.07 km.

The company also prepared four pairs of Rest and Service Places (TIP) at KM 24+600 Section 1 Line A and B; KM 73+550 Section 2 Line A and B; KM 125+600 Section 3 Line A and B; and KM 158+000 Section 3.

"Paralel with the main work targeted for completion in the first quarter of 2027, TIP development is also in the final stage," Mardiansyah said in his official statement, quoted Tuesday, November 18.

The presence of the toll road is expected to strengthen connectivity and accelerate the mobility of people in South Sumatra.

With a length of 170.73 km, the travel time from Jambi City to Betung, which was originally about six hours, can be shortened to only two hours.

As part of efforts to strengthen the integrated transportation ecosystem, said Mardiansyah, the development of these sections is expected to be a catalyst for increasing economic activity, forming new growth centers and increasing investment interest in the South Sumatra and Jambi regions.

"This increase in connectivity also creates a stronger foundation for the community in obtaining access to fast, safe and quality travel," he added.
