Starting 2026, MSME KUR Interest Flat 6 Percent Without Submission Limit

JAKARTA - Minister of Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Maman Abdurrahman said that the Government would make significant changes to the People's Business Credit (KUR) scheme in 2026.

He explained that previously KUR submissions were limited four times to the production sector and twice to the trade sector, now these restrictions have been removed, so that MSME actors can apply for financing repeatedly until their efforts are truly stable and independent.

"So far, KUR has been limited to 4 times. Once I have promoted KUR, the second one has promoted KUR, the third, fourth, only 4 times for the production sector and 2 times for trade, now it has been opened, so it can be several times, the repetition can be several times until the MSMEs are really strong and ready to be released. There are no restrictions," he explained to the media crew, Monday, November 17.

In addition, Maman said that the structure of the KUR interest rate also experienced a simplification where in the old regulation there was a gradual increase in interest rates from 6 percent to 9 percent based on the frequency of submissions, now it is replaced with one single tariff.

He added that starting in 2026, all KUR applications regardless of the amount will be subject to a flat interest rate of 6 percent.

"Yes. So if you want the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, all flat 6 percent," he said.

Maman explained that the reformulation of the KUR policy was a direct direction for President Prabowo Subianto through the MSME Financing Committee led by the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto.

In addition, he conveyed that the policy was aimed at strengthening economic movement and providing encouragement for MSME players.

He ensured that all changes would take effect in early January 2026 and would be outlined in a ministerial regulation which is currently in the process of being drafted.
