Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto revealed that the government is drafting a Presidential Regulation (Perpres) on Strengthening National Logistics.

According to him, this is a form of the government's commitment to building a logistics system that is more effective, efficient and globally competitive.

Airlangga said the national logistics strengthening strategy was designed to cover three strategies, namely the development of infrastructure connectivity, digitization and service integration, as well as increasing human resource capacity (HR) and logistics service providers.

"This strategy is stated in various inter-Ministerial/Institutional programs," said Airlangga in a written statement, Thursday, November 13.

He also invited all stakeholders to participate in major transformations in the national logistics sector

Airlangga juga menegaskan bahwa Pemerintah tidak bisa berjalan sendiri dan membutuhkan dukungan baik inovasi dari sektor swasta, kolaborasi mitra global, serta masukan dari para profesional.

"Let's make this momentum a turning point. With the spirit of mutual cooperation and innovation, we create national logistics that are able to support economic growth, strengthen exports, and open wider access," he said.

In addition, Airlangga said, the performance of the transportation and national warehousing sector showed a significant upward trend.

He said that by the end of 2025, this sector is projected to be able to contribute around Rp. 1,500 trillion to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

"Supply Chain Indonesia projects that by the end of 2025, the transportation and warehousing sector will contribute around Rp. 1,500 trillion to the National GDP. This figure will increase to around 9 percent, from the previous 8.69 percent in 2024," he said. .

Airlangga added, in the third quarter of 2025, the transportation and warehousing sector grew by 8.62 percent, up from the previous quarter which reached 8.52 percent, and still above the national economic growth average.

"This group is also recorded as the sixth largest contributor to economic growth in the third quarter of 2025, at 6.1 percent," he said.

However, Airlangga highlighted that the effectiveness and efficiency of logistics is still a major challenge for national economic development, namely in 2022, Indonesia's logistics costs will be recorded at 14.29 percent of the total GDP.

Globally, Indonesia's position in the 2023 Logistics Performance Index (LPI) released by the World Bank is ranked 63 out of 139 countries.

According to him, this condition affects the domestic economy and has the potential to increase export logistics costs, which in turn can reduce competitiveness in the international market.
