JAKARTA - PT Timah (Persero) Tbk (TINS) revealed that it has carried out five cooperatives to follow up on the government's discourse to grant people mining permits (IPR) to illegal mines.
Director of Production and Commercialization of PT Timah Ilhamsyah Mahendra said the five cooperatives that served as pilot were monitored directly by the President Director of PT Timah, Restu Widiyantoro.
"Now there are five cooperatives that have started and transacted as pilots, this is fully supported and fully monitored," said Ilham, quoted on Wednesday, November 12.
At the same moment, Ilham also asked for support from the government and Commission XII from the regulatory side so that tin ore taken from illegal mining that operates within the mining business permit (IUP) area of PT Timah so that it can be returned to PT Timah.
"Well, this is to arrange how our seed production can find a stable and consistent point, because this is important. The implications to global demand and supply, how the production of PT Timah can be felt to have consistency," he said.
Another support requested is the issuance of derivative government regulations from the Minerba Law which supports improving governance and trading regulations.
The former President Director of Inalum said that the regulation was needed by PT Timah to support tin determination as a strategic critical mineral while strengthening the downstream agenda.
