JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Simon Aloysius Mantiri targets the merger of three Pertamina subsidiaries to be completed on January 1, 2026. The three subsidiaries in question include PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) and also PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS).
"We are still chasing it, hopefully as of January 1, 2026 it will be implemented (merger)," Simon told the media crew when met at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Building, Monday, November 10.
According to Simon, currently the merger process of the three subsidiaries has entered the finalization stage and will be reported to the Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara) in order to obtain approval.
"We will report to Danantara," continued Simon.
Simon explained that the merger of PIS, KPI and Pertamna Patra Niaga was intended so that Pertamina would continue to improve the company's performance in the midst of domestic and global economic challenges.
"There are also many challenges in global conditions," he explained.
Previously, Simon said that in the future the Company would focus more on the core business, namely in the oil and gas (oil and gas) sector and renewable energy. Thus, a number of business units outside the main business will be separated or spin off from the Company.

Danantara Indonesia's Chief Operating Officer (COO) Dony Oskaria previously said that his party plans to streamline the number of SOEs and their subsidiaries, from a total of more than 800 to around 200 companies.
According to Dony at that time, this was an effort so that state-owned companies would only focus on their respective business (core business). Pertamina, which has core business on oil and gas, for example, also has hospital businesses to travel agents.
If state-owned companies return to their core business, Dony thinks the company will be healthier and stronger.
