Pangkas Waktu Tempuh, Waskita Karya Complete Jalan Nabire Manokwari Senilai Rp138,2 Miliar

JAKARTA - The government through BUMN Karya continues to build roads in Eastern Indonesia to cut people's travel time to a destination.

This is evidenced by PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk which has completed Jalan Kwatisore Kampung Muri in Central Papua.

Now, the road that has cost Rp138.2 billion has been completed and started operating since 2024.

Waskita Karya Corporate Secretary Ermy Puspa Yunita explained, the main function of the road is to shorten the travel time by up to 22 hours from Nabire to Manokwari to 14 hours, from 36 hours.

"Kwaisore Street Muri Village is a form of the company's support for Presidential Regulation Number 24 of 2023 concerning the Master Plan for the Acceleration of Development in Papua for 2022-2041. The work on this project is also a manifestation of Waskita Karya's efforts to encourage economic equality while improving the welfare of the Papuan people," said Ermy in a written statement, Friday, November 7.

According to Ermy, increased connectivity between regions must be carried out, because it not only facilitates human mobilization, but also delivery of goods and services. Starting from medical devices, education, and foodstuffs.

With this road, residents of Kwatisore can travel the land route to Nabire.

Previously, they had to pass by sea because the existing land routes were not adequate.

"In its work, Waskita Karya always prioritizes quality even though material delivery is quite challenging, because this 16.38 kilometer long project is in the middle of the forest. The company also implements green construction for the sustainability of the natural ecosystem," he said.

Guna memangkas waktu pembangunan, lanjut Ermy, perseroan turut menghadirkan inovasi box precast pada struktur saluran penyebrangan (crossing).

Metode tersebut pertama kali dipakai pada pengerjaan jalan di kawasan Papua Tengah.

"Kami merasa bangga dapat ikut membangun jalan yang berfungsi membuka keterisolasian daerah ini. Kini pengiriman barang dan jasa lebih mudah, sehingga berpotensi menggerakkan perekonomian lokal," tuturnya.

"Ke depannya, perseroan berkomitmen terus mendorong pemerataan pembangunan di Tanah Air, khususnya di daerah Terdepan, Terpencil dan Tertinggal (3T)," pungkas Ermy.

In order to cut development time, continued Ermy, the company also presented box precast innovations on the structure of the crossing channel.

This method was first used in the construction of roads in the Central Papua area.

"We are proud to be able to participate in building a road that functions to open the isolation of this area. Now the delivery of goods and services is easier, so it has the potential to drive the local economy," he said.

"In the future, the company is committed to continuing to encourage equitable development in the country, especially in the front, Remote and Disadvantaged areas (3T)," concluded Ermy.
