JAKARTA - In commemorating Youth Pledge Day 2025, the Indonesian Textile Society Alliance (AMTI) consisting of academics, businessmen, market traders and textile activists carried out Sarasehan with the theme "One Textile, Textile Indonesia" which was held in Jakarta, Friday, October 31, 2025 in Jakarta.

AMTI Coordinator Iqbal said that his party was providing support to the Prabowo Government to continue to strengthen the national textile industry in order to create large jobs and grow the national economy. For this reason, the theme of Sarasehan is very appropriate to invite all people to continue using Indonesian textile products. On that occasion, AMTI appreciated the Minister of Finance for continuing to detain imported products entering Indonesia.

Iqbal added that in the sarasesan of the Youth Pledge, AMTI asked the Government to audit the industry of members of the Arm and Fiber Association (APSyfi) and also the Industry members of the Textile Association (API), especially their industries in Bonded Areas, Bonded Warehouses, Bonded Centers and Industrial Estates for Elspor (KITE).

"This is urgent for an audit because AMTI suspects that they are using this facility to flow their products to the domestic market so that it disrupts the business climate of the textile industry outside the area," said Iqbal

AMTI criticized these two textile associations for continuing to criticize the government. But his party also believes that all of the textile industry players are in this association.

"So the conclusion is that the negative narrative that continues to be intensified to the government is the practice of throwing away bodies so that they are not blamed because the textile industry for the last 8 eight years until 2024 has been slumped, layoffs and even closed, which incidentally is the textile industry, its own members including other forms of throwing away bodies that fail to pay debts as well as mismanagement and transfer of bank debts that should strengthen the textile industry being transferred to other sectors that are considered profitable," explained Iqbal.

In the future, said Iqbal, his party and all members of the Alliance who are members of the AMTI fully support the Government to improve the trading system of the textile industry.

"And we, who are in the two associations above, if proven to have abused, will take firm action and be prosecuted, including association administrators who carry out body disposal techniques by spreading negative narratives that attract investment and recovery climates," he concluded.

In the closing message of Sarasehan AMTI, the Minister of Finance asked the Minister of Finance to make it easier for textile IKMs to get access to working capital loans for them to do business. In addition, AMTI also asked the government to regulate e-commerce as well as traditional market markets that sell cheap imported goods and not domestic products.

"So as not to destroy the power of the national textile industry and the people's economy," concluded Iqbal.
