The Ministry Of Public Works Sets A Strategy To Absorb A 95 Percent Budget Until The End Of 2025

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has set a strategy to be able to absorb 95 percent of the APBN budget until the end of 2025. Until now, PU has only absorbed 60 percent of the budget obtained.

PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said that one of the obstacles was related to the length of the chain for budget requests. However, he believes this can be resolved.

Second, are tenders whose administration can take five days. However, Dody claimed that this was no longer a problem, he even said that his party was currently accelerating.

"Well, this is also about to be finished. So, I, really, believe that 95 percent plus it can be overtaken, maybe up to 98 percent," said Dody in Jakarta, quoted on Saturday, November 1.

"Because, if then the multi-year contract (MYC) approval business can be obated by, for example, the Minister of Finance and Commission V in these weeks or next week, yes, the budget will definitely be helped to open," he continued.

According to Dody, if the budget has been opened with the acceleration of the Ministry of Finance and Commission V of the DPR, the tenders can quickly become contracts and in the end, PU can absorb the budget even better.

"God willing, the target is not a target of gerang, but we have to calculate and we check the progress every week, where is the problem," he explained.

Previously, the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadive made a visit to the office of the Ministry of Public Works (PU) on Friday, October 17.

Purbaya said the visit was carried out to ensure that the budget that had been given to the Ministry of Public Works could be absorbed optimally.

"I'm here for the budget safari, I think to make sure the existing budget is spent well," said Purbaya.

He did not deny that the realization of the ministry's budget absorption led by Dody Hanggodo was still low, which was below 50 percent.

For this reason, the visit made by him and his staff to ensure that the Ministry of Public Works can absorb its budget to the fullest.

"I asked the Minister (Dody Hanggodo) what the steps looked like and it seemed that the steps were quite good, so that by the end of the year (the budget) could be absorbed maybe 94 percent or more," he said.
