Director of KAI Facilities and Infrastructure Management Heru Kuswanto explained that after various quick handling steps were taken in the field, the upstream route could now be used again for train operations with limited speed.

"After the action of adding reply, lifting listing, and stabbing, on October 29, 2025 at 19.45 WIB, we can open the upstream route between Semarang Tawang-Alastua Station for train traffic of all types of locomotives and trains with a speed limit of 5 km/hour, escorted by officers and gradually we will raise it according to safety principles," Heru said in an official statement, Thursday, October 30.

Furthermore, Heru added that the previous downstream route had also been traversed, but only certain types of locomotives had special specifications.
