JAKARTA - PTPN IV PalmCo as a Subholding from PTPN III (Persero) encourages strengthening community economic empowerment through support for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Through a series of training to improve competence, facilitate financing, and access to national-scale exhibitions or bazaars to help their fostered MSMEs grow and advance to class.

President Director of PTPN IV PalmCo Jatmiko K. Santosa said the MSME development program was part of the company's strategy to create sustainable economic growth, especially in areas around the company's operations.

"We don't want empowerment to stop at providing capital, what we are building is an ecosystem so that MSMEs can grow sustainably through training, mentoring, and market expansion. With the right assistance, small business actors can become strong economic drivers in the regions," said Jatmiko in a written statement, Wednesday, October 29.

In recent times, said Jatmiko, PalmCo has actively held various entrepreneurial trainings for its fostered partners, ranging from battery and cake training, financial management, packaging design, to digital marketing strategies.

"Activities are carried out in various regions, including in Jambi, North Sumatra to Kalimantan Provinces by cooperating with professional institutions such as LaSalle College Jakarta and the entrepreneurial training community," he said.

PalmCo also provides accommodation and transportation support for training participants so that MSME players from remote areas can still participate. In addition, the company actively involves its fostered MSMEs in national exhibitions and bazaars such as INACRAFT 2025 and 2nd Expouse 2025 Yogyakarta, which are promotional rooms as well as opportunities to meet potential investors and buyers from various regions.

In addition to training, PalmCo also strengthens access to financing for MSMEs through collaboration with Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI). As of August 2025, the total value of loans that have been disbursed has reached IDR 70.3 billion to 4,277 MSME partners in various regions.

Jatmiko said that the financing scheme was carried out carefully through the validation process and checking by banks to ensure that the funds disbursed were actually used for business development.

"The precautionary principle remains our priority. However, we believe, with good guidance, small business actors can grow independently and expand their business scale," he said.

One of PTPN IV PalmCo's fostered partners who is an ecoprint product craftsman from Medan, North Sumatra, Elynar Lubis admitted that his efforts have grown rapidly since attending training and promotions with the PalmCo BUMN House.

At first I only produced at home and sold at the local market. After joining the PalmCo program, I learned about packaging, promotional strategies, and financial management. Now my turnover has almost doubled, there have even been orders from outside the region," said Elynar.

In the fashion sector, PalmCo also fosters MSMEs traditional Kalimantan cloth through training at LaSalle College Jakarta. One of the participants, Ronsa, owner of the Betanun Collection brand from Pontianak, said the training opened new insights.

We learn firsthand the sewing and design techniques of the garment industry standards. This is very helpful so that our traditional fabric products can be more competitive," he said.

On the other hand, PalmCo's coaching program also received support from various parties.

The chairman of Commission II of the Jambi City DPRD, Djokas Siburian, expressed his appreciation for the company's initiative to strengthen the role of MSMEs in the regions.

"Alhamdulillah, PalmCo welcomes collaboration and has the same goal in developing and creating entrepreneurs from MSME actors. This is a concrete step by SOEs in building the regional economy," said Djokas.
