MINAHASA - Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) and PT PLN (Persero) distributed 112 Electricity New Installation Assistance (BPBL) in Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia said that actually the BPBL program in 2023-2024 had been felt by 20 households.
"There are not many BPBL programs. About 100 more. That's quite extraordinary and this year it's over," Bahlil told the media crew in Minahasa, Wednesday, October 29.
According to Bahlil, currently there are 11 villages that have not had access to electricity. Moreover, Bahlil continued, there are several villages that are directly adjacent to the Philippine sea area.
However, he targets that by 2026 all areas of North Sulawesi will be fully electrified.
"And I have budgeted this through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, 2026, 2025, which already exists, we are targeting all of 2026 for North Sulawesi as a whole in 2026 December to be completed," explained Bahlil.
Meanwhile, for all of Indonesia, he estimates that it will be completed by electricity from 2029 to 2030.
Bahlil explained that the reason there are still areas that have not been electrified is areas located in remote areas that require extra businesses.
"Between one district and another, it must pass by sea, land, and air. Those are islands. Villages are also sometimes islands. These are slight in difference with those in Maluku and Papua. Well, access to infrastructure does require extraordinary effort," he continued.
Nevertheless, Bahlil emphasized that the challenges mentioned did not become an obstacle for the state to direct and accelerate the installation of electricity.
