The Minister Of Manpower Proposed By Presidential Decree For Ojol Covering Social Security To Work Accidents

JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower Yassierli revealed that his party proposed that the rules related to online motorcycle taxis (ojol) would contain driver-partner protection. According to him, his party proposes that this rule will be in the form of a Presidential Precurrency (Perpres) and will be issued soon.

"For us, the Ministry of Manpower focuses us on Social Security. So our ojol wants to ensure that social security exists," Yassierli told media crews in a media briefing at the Ministry of Manpower Building.

Later in the regulation, it will contain those related to those who will bear social security, guarantees of work implementation and guarantees of the death of partners.

He hopes that the Presidential Decree will later provide transparency regarding the work relationship between employers and partners.

"So there should be no unequal relationship. We want to make sure workers get the opportunity to give aspirations," he explained.

Yassierli also emphasized that this regulation does not only involve the Ministry of Manpower but many parties are directly related to ojol.

Furthermore, Yassierli also said that his legislation had only been proposed by the Ministry of Manpower but had not yet been determined whether it was an initiative from the DPR or the government.

"But it has been proposed. Yes, it will be listed for next year, we will see together," said Yassierli.
