Baitul Khairat Grand Mosque, PTPP's Work That Gets 2 MURI Records And Becomes A Symbol Of The Pride And Awakening Of Central Sulawesi

JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP), a national construction and investment company under the auspices of Danantara Indonesia, has again made proud achievements in the world of national construction. PTPP has won two awards from the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) for its success in building the Baitul Khairaat Grand Mosque, a new icon of pride for the people of Central Sulawesi who are recognized as the largest mosque with the dome in Indonesia and the largest analog clock tower in Indonesia.

This record was achieved thanks to the success of PTPP in designing and building a single dome structure with a diameter of 90 meters using a curvature steel frame system without a central pillar, as well as the installation of an analog clock with a diameter of 19.3 meters, which is recorded as the largest clock in Indonesia as well as the fifth largest in the world.

This success is proof of PTPP's superiority in combining engineering precision, architectural design innovation, and complex-scale project management in the midst of geographical challenges and seismic conditions in the Central Sulawesi region.

The MURI record certificate was officially handed over at the MURI Office, Jakarta, on October 15, 2025, and received by Dr. Andi Ruly Djanggola, Head of the Department of Human Settlements and Water Resources of Central Sulawesi Province, representing the Governor of Central Sulawesi. The award was handed over directly by Yusuf Ngadri, Director of Operations of MURI, as a form of recognition for the monumental achievements of the work of the nation's children.

The project worth Rp376.65 billion was carried out by PTPP from 23 October 2023 to 15 November 2025, and recorded a physical realization of 99.18 percent, exceeding the set time and quality targets.

PTPP's Corporate Secretary, Joko Raharjo, said that this success is proof of PTPP's superiority in presenting large-scale projects that not only stand out from a technical point of view, but also have high social and spiritual values.

"The construction of the Baitul Khairaat Grand Mosque is not just a construction project, but a symbol of revival and goodness for the people of Central Sulawesi after the 2018 disaster. We are proud to be part of this history and thank the local government for its trust," said Joko, in his statement, Thursday, October 23.

This magnificent mosque was built on the philosophy of deep Islamic values: the height of the 30 meter building symbolizes 30 juz of the Qur'an, two towers as high as 66.66 meters representing 6,666 verses of the Qur'an, and 99 window ornaments depicting Asmaul Husna.

The main pearl-shaped dome with a diameter of 90 meters is the largest in Indonesia, while the analog clock tower with a diameter of 19.3 meters is recorded as the largest clock in Indonesia and the fifth largest in the world, complete with a GPS-based time synchronization system and illumination that adds to the beauty of the mosque at night.

In addition to architectural splendor, the Baitul Khairaat Grand Mosque has a strong symbolic value as the center of modern Islamic civilization in Central Sulawesi. The mosque design was chosen through an open competition in 2021, and is designed to become a house of worship as well as a center for social, educational and humanitarian activities for the community.

The Governor of Central Sulawesi, Drs. Anwar Hafid, M.Si, expressed his high appreciation for the success of this project.

"This mosque is the center of Islamic civilization in Central Sulawesi and a door of blessing for the community. We thank PTPP for its dedication and professionalism that produces monumental works," he said.

The construction of this mosque is also a form of cross-regional leadership synergy, starting from the initiation of designs during the Governor of Longki Djangola, followed by groundbreaking by Governor Rusdy Mastura, to the stage of completion and institutional establishment of mosque management by Governor Anwar Hafid.

Through this project, PTPP emphasized its role as a pioneer in the development of national religious infrastructure with high standards and full of cultural values. This success is also a clear proof of PTPP's contribution in supporting the Asta Cita Pemerintah program, especially in the pillars of equitable development, strengthening religious characters, and developing national culture.
