Visit The Ministry Of Public Works, Minister Of Finance Purbaya Wants To Make Sure The Existing Budget Is Expenditured Well

Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadivewa paid a visit to the office of the Ministry of Public Works (PU) today.

Purbaya said the visit was carried out to ensure that the budget that had been given to the Ministry of Public Works could be absorbed optimally.

"I'm here for the budget safari, I think to ensure that the existing budget is spent well," Purbaya told reporters at the PU Ministry office, Jakarta, Friday, October 17.

He did not deny that the realization of the ministry's budget absorption led by Dody Hanggodo was still low, which was below 50 percent.

For this reason, the visit made by him and his staff to ensure that the Ministry of Public Works can absorb its budget to the fullest.

"I asked the Minister (Dody Hanggodo) what the steps looked like and it seemed that the steps were quite good, so that by the end of the year (the budget) could be absorbed maybe 94 percent or more," he said.

Based on the results of the meeting with Dody Hanggodo, said Purbaya, there are several programs that will be accelerated. Such as irrigation and construction or repairing roads in the village.

"It will also be accelerated and it looks ready. So, there is nothing to worry about with this PU Ministry spending," said Purbaya.

"What is important for me is that spending can boost the economy so that our economy can grow faster in the fourth quarter," he continued.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, explained that the meeting with the Minister of Finance Purbaya did discuss steps to accelerate budget absorption.

"Today is the arrival of guest Agung, Mr. Minister of Finance. Some time ago our absorption (budget) was low. We discussed how to speed up the absorption of payments from him," explained Dody.

By meeting the Minister of Finance today, Dody hopes that the Ministry of Public Works' budget absorption can reach around 94 percent by the end of the year.

"Peterimally, later we will report to the Minister of Finance, so that my prognosis, which is 94 percent more, can really be achieved," he concluded.
