Budget Telan Rp79.14 Billion, Ministry Of Public Works Accelerates Handling Of Integrated Extreme Poverty In 10 Villages

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) seeks to accelerate the handling of extreme poverty (PKE) in Indonesia through the development of basic settlement service infrastructure, inter-regional connectivity and community needs-based regional arrangement.

The implementation of the PKE Integrated program in 2025 is spread across 10 locations in 10 provinces representing various regional characteristics in Indonesia, both in the west and east.

The 10 locations include Cibarengkok Village, Cianjur Regency, West Java Province; Kamulyan Village, Cilacap Regency, Central Java Province; Tampabulu Village, Bombana Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province; Sumberbening Village, Ngawi Regency, East Java Province; and Pelauw Village, Central Maluku Regency, Maluku Province.

Then, there is Riseh Tunong Village, North Aceh Regency, Aceh Province; Rufei Village, Sorong City, Southwest Papua Province; Ardipura Village, Jayapura City, Papua Province; Bulalo Village, North Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo Province; and Batetangga Village, Polewali Mandar Regency, West Sulawesi Province.

The location of the beneficiaries is contained in the Decree of the Director General of Human Settlements Number 47 of 2025 concerning the Determination of the Integrated PKE Activity Location of the Directorate General of Human Settlements in 2025 which is set on June 10, 2025.

Through the distribution of these locations, the program is expected to be an example of the implementation of comprehensive and fair extreme poverty treatment, taking into account local potential, geographical conditions and community needs in each region.

PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said the program is an important instrument to ensure the benefits of development can be felt evenly throughout the community.

"By involving local residents in development, it is also hoped that it will create jobs, reduce unemployment and increase people's purchasing power," said Dody in his official statement, quoted Friday, October 17.

The total program budget for 2025 is IDR 79.14 billion, consisting of a physical work budget of IDR 68.36 billion and a safeguard budget of IDR 8.86 billion.

As of October 15, 2025, the physical progress of the activity reached 9.79 percent, while the financial progress had reached 31.94 percent.

The implementation of Integrated PKE is carried out with a labor-intensive approach, prioritizing local community participation in basic infrastructure development, such as providing clean water, proper sanitation, increasing environmental access and structuring residential areas.

The approach not only produces physical infrastructure, but also opens job opportunities, reduces unemployment and increases people's purchasing power in the target village.

Strategicly, the implementation of the PKE Integrated Ministry of Public Works program is directed at three main pillars of handling extreme poverty, namely reducing the burden of public spending through increasing access to basic infrastructure (drinking water, sanitation), increasing people's income through community-based labor-intensive activities and reducing the number of poverty bags through the arrangement of integrated residential environments and improving quality of life.
