JAKARTA - Investment in the non-oil and gas processing industry, aka manufacturing, has reached Rp366.6 trillion to date. The investment value is said to be able to absorb up to 21 million workers.

This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Industry (Wamenperin) Faisol Riza during the 1st Anniversary of the Prabowo-Gibran Government in Jakarta, Thursday, October 16.

"Investasi sedang berjalan saat ini Rp366,6 triliun dengan kira-kira 38,8 persen, maka kemungkinan untuk penyerapan tenaga kerjanya bisa 13-15 persen, 13-15 persen itu kira-kira dari 16-21 juta potensi tenaga kerja yang akan terserap," ujar Faisol.

Meanwhile, the total investment that has entered Indonesia has reached around Rp942.9 trillion, while specifically for the manufacturing industry it is Rp366.6 trillion.

Faisol added that the growth of the manufacturing industry reached 16.92 percent and had absorbed up to 19 million workers.

"We need to convey with a contribution of 16.92 percent, so the absorption of the workforce is approximately 13.5 percent or the equivalent of 19 million workers," he said.

In addition, the manufacturing industry also contributed to exports of 147.95 billion US dollars out of total national exports which reached 185.13 billion US dollars until August 2025.

"The total exports of our manufacturing industry until August are approximately US$147.95 billion out of a total export of US$185.13 billion or equivalent to 79.9 percent," he explained.

According to Faisol, the performance of the manufacturing industry is still fairly brilliant. The reason is, in the last two months the Indonesian Purchasing Manager's Index (PMI) has been above 50 percent, meaning it is expansive.

"Our PMI, although there are two months a bit below 50, the last two months have also been above 50.4. IKI (industrial confidence index) is also stable at 53.02," explained Faisol.
