JAKARTA - The government strengthens the synergy between ministries in the development of pesantren education infrastructure through the signing of a Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Public Works (PU), the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag), and the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).

The activity took place at the Heritage Building of the Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment, Jakarta, witnessed by the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar.

The agreement signed by the Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar, and Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian is a strategic step in ensuring the development of a safe, healthy and sustainable pesantren infrastructure, in line with the direction of policy to strengthen human resources in Asta Cita President Prabowo Subianto.

"Through this agreement, the government strengthens the role of local governments as the spearhead of development so that every pesantren, no matter how small, get the same attention," said PU Minister Dody Hanggodo.

In this collaboration, the Ministry of Public Works acts as a technical partner who supports the Ministry of Religion and local governments in terms of planning, assistance, and provision of building standard designs through the Building Management Information System (SIMBG).

The Ministry of Public Works is also conducting the reliability assessment of Islamic boarding schools in eight provinces with the highest number of Islamic boarding schools, including West Java, East Java, Banten, and Central Java.

The assessment was carried out on 80 Islamic boarding schools as samples to ensure building safety and feasibility standards for students.

In addition to technical strengthening, the agreement also opens space for local governments to provide incentives and exemption from licensing fees for pesantren development, as stipulated in Law Number 1 of 2022 concerning Central and Regional Financial Relations (HKPD).

Another step that is focused is training and certification of construction workers for students.

This program is expected to be able to develop the spirit of mutual cooperation in the pesantren environment into standardized construction skills.

"We want to change the spirit of roan in pesantren into real competence. We will train students and certify so that their skills in the construction sector are recognized professionally," added Dody.

The scope of this collaboration includes the exchange of Islamic boarding school data, technical support for building reliability and environmental restructuring, licensing coordination, as well as guidance and supervision of the issuance of Building Agreements (PBG) by local governments.

"If the Ministry of Religion becomes a holder of moral values and the local government is on duty in the field, then the Ministry of Public Works acts as a technical bridge between the two. This synergy not only builds buildings, but also builds learning rooms that glorify humans," concluded Dody.
