JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) through its business entity, PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI) reported that the progress of the construction of the Betung Toll Road (Jambi) Section 1A has reached 49 percent by the end of September 2025.
Part of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road Network (JTTS), the toll road connects Betung Supat Induk and will cut the travel time to only about 30 minutes.
Director of Operations III of HKI Aditya Novendra Jaya said the Jambi Betung Toll Road Section 1A would cut the travel time from Betung to Supat Induk, which was previously 90 minutes through national roads to 30 minutes.
"In the Betung Toll Road Jambi Section 1A project, the HKI worked on a 30.8 km main road, 2.2 km of Betung road exchange access, Betung Toll Gate, Betung Intersection and underpass bridge," Aditya said in an official statement quoted on Thursday, October 9.
In addition to connecting connectivity in South Sumatra, the project also brings benefits to the surrounding community. Project activities encourage an increase in sales of basic commodities in Betung due to the large number of workers and create jobs for the local community, of which 38 percent of project employees are local residents.
He added that the project not only emphasized the acceleration of physical development, but also increased quality through the application of modern construction technology.
The technology used includes Building Information Modelling (BIM) for efficient design and implementation coordination, LiDAR-based topographic surveys for planning accuracy and Electronic Density Gauge (EDG) for land density verification without damaging the surface.
In addition, UAV Photogrammetry and Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS) are used to ensure the accuracy of work volume data, while Load Scanner is used for material volume verification.
