JAKARTA - The Halal Industry Center of the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Economy and Trade of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding the development of the potential of the halal industry.

The Head of the Halal Industry Development Center (PPIH) of the Ministry of Industry, Kris Sasono Ngudi Wibowo, stated that Indonesia is committed to strengthening international collaboration in the halal sector.

"Through this collaboration, we want to encourage the growth of a mutually beneficial halal industry ecosystem, not only for the domestic market but also in supporting the global supply chain," Kris said in an official statement, written on Monday, September 29.

The two parties discussed various issues to promote the halal industry in both countries through cooperation that includes increasing global competitiveness, exchanging information and consultations related to the halal industry, exchanging experiences in halal industry HR training programs, promoting halal products and services, and participating in seminars and symposiums.

The signed agreement is outlined in a Record of Discussion (RoD), which serves as the initial foundation for formal cooperation, such as a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or other agreements that will be finalized through diplomatic channels.

"This document is the first step to strengthening cooperation in halal industry development between Indonesia and Kyrgyzstan. Later, more specific technical details and activities will be outlined in a formal agreement," he explained.

Meanwhile, A.D. Kaiyrbekov, Director of the Kyrgyz Republic Halal Industry Development Center, welcomed the collaboration.

"Indonesia is a strategic partner in halal industry development. With these initial discussions, we hope to accelerate the implementation of concrete programs that benefit both countries," he said.

Going forward, the Ministry of Industry ensures that communication will be maintained with the Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy and Trade to ensure the continuity of cooperation.
