Pertamina Operates Fuel Refinery From East To West RI To Maintain Supply

PT Pertamina (Persero) has optimized the production of fuel oil (BBM) at six Pertamina refineries spread across Indonesia, from Refinery II Dumai (Sumatra), to Refinery VII Kasim (Papua).

Refinery is Pertamina's main facility to produce oil and natural gas as a source of fuel, Avtur, LPG, and petrochemical energy, in accordance with international standards and specifications.

Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso conveyed Pertamina's commitment to continue to strengthen its role in managing national energy.

"Through this domestic production, Pertamina also supports the government in reducing the burden of state foreign exchange, as well as creating jobs for human resources (HR) in the Pertamina region," said Fadjar, Thursday, September 25.

Fadjar revealed that currently six refineries managed by PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional Refinery & Petrochemical Subholding have been able to meet 70 percent of the fuel needs of domestic production.

In fact, Pertamina has been able to provide 100 percent of Avtur's supply as aircraft fuel, and Diesel from domestic refinery production.

Production capacity of six existing refineries currently reaches 1.05 million barrels per day.

It is hoped that production will increase significantly to 1.4 million barrels per day in line with the completion of the Balikpapan Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP).

To support refinery production, added Fadjar, Pertamina also continues to boost oil and gas lifting.

Hingga tahun 2024, Subholding Hulu Pertamina berhasil menembus produksi 1 juta barel setara minyak per hari, yang berkontribusi setara 69 persen produksi minyak nasional dan 37 persen produksi gas nasional.

Produksi migas tersebut menjadi bahan baku kilang Pertamina.

“Pertamina menjadi perusahaan energi terintegrasi dari hulu migas, mengolah produksi hulu menjadi energi, hingga penyaluran energi ke konsumen. Langkah ini dilakukan melalui berbagai fasilitas dan moda transportasi, sehingga energi dapat tiba di ‘pintu depan’ konsumen,” tandas Fadjar.

Until 2024, Pertamina's Hulu Subholding managed to penetrate the production of 1 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, which contributed 69 percent of national oil production and 37 percent of national gas production.

The oil and gas production is the raw material for the Pertamina refinery.

"Pertamina is an integrated energy company from upstream oil and gas, processing upstream production into energy, to distributing energy to consumers. This step is carried out through various facilities and modes of transportation, so that energy can arrive at the consumer front door," said Fadjar.
