Dasco Says Revision Of The BUMN Law Will Regulate The Prohibition Of Assignment Of Multiple Positions

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, revealed that the revision of the BUMN Law (UU) will accommodate a number of decisions of the Constitutional Court (MK), including the issue of limiting concurrent positions of commissioners.

"The revision of the BUMN Law is because it wants to accommodate or include several Constitutional Court decisions related to SOEs. The last one is the Constitutional Court's decision on deputy ministers who can only serve as commissioners for a maximum of 2 years. That is included," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 24.

According to Dasco, the Constitutional Court's decision Number 128/PUU-XXIII/2025 is the basic reason for the DPR and the government to revise the BUMN Law.

The law was previously also revised, and was only ratified on February 4, 2025.

Even so, Dasco admitted that he could not confirm how the BUMN would end up accommodating the ban on concurrent positions.

"We don't know the policies of SOEs and Danantara, it seems that they will start to evaluate," he said.

In addition, Dasco said that this revision also aims to follow up on public input regarding the polemic of BUMN officials who are not state administrators.

Referring to the BUMN Law Number 1 of 2025, the directors and commissioners of state-owned companies are no longer state administrators as in the old rules.

"Well, it's being discussed, it's possible that it will be returned to its original state," he explained.

Dasco mengatakan, pembahasan revisi UU BUMN ini sudah menyerap banyak masukan publik sejak setahun terakhir.

Targetnya, rancangan tersebut bisa diselesaikan sebelum masa sidang ditutup.

“Kita anggap partisipasi publiknya sudah banyak, ditambah dengan nanti tetap minta masukan dari publik tambahan-tambahan. Kemungkinan akan coba diselesaikan sebelum penutupan,” tuturnya.

Dasco said that the discussion on the revision of the BUMN Law had absorbed a lot of public input since the last year.

The target is that the draft can be completed before the trial period is closed.

"We consider the public participation to be large, plus we will continue to ask for input from the public in additions. It is possible that it will try to be completed before the closing," he said.
