Minister Of Finance Purbaya Promises No More Stories Of Meras Tax Employees

Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadive emphasized that the naughty practices of tax officials which are often called 'meras-meras' for taxpayers should no longer occur.

He is committed to improving the service integrity of the Directorate General of Taxes.

"We are doing fair treatment. If you have paid taxes, don't be bothered at all. And there is no longer the story of the tax employee, it's complicated," he told reporters when met at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, September 23.

To oversee this, Purbaya admitted that he would open a special complaint channel. Later, this channel will accommodate public reports if there are allegations of violations or abuse of authority from tax officials.

"Later I will open a special channel for complaints about the problem," he said.

Even so, Purbaya said that tax arrears would certainly continue to be pursued in order to fulfill their obligations. Including, 2100 tax arrears who already have permanent legal force or commitment.

"Those who don't pay taxes are Rp. 60 trillion, right, the 200 largest taxpayers, who have signed. In a week I will force them to pay," he said.

If the tax arrears do not fulfill their obligations, Purbaya ensures that his domestic life will be difficult.

Even so, Purbaya did not specify the 200 tax arrears.

"This year, it will definitely come in. Otherwise, it will be difficult for him to live here," he said.
